1 2 BY COMMITTEE ON RULES AND ADMINISTRATION
1 3 A Senate Resolution honoring Senator Wilmer Rensink.
1 4 WHEREAS, Senator Wilmer Rensink is retiring from
1 5 legislative office after completing three terms in
1 6 office as a state Senator and two terms as a member of
1 7 the House of Representatives; and
1 8 WHEREAS, Senator Rensink's service as Chairperson
1 9 of the Agriculture Committee and as Vice Chair of the
1 10 Agriculture and Natural Resources Appropriations
1 11 Subcommittee is well recognized; and
1 12 WHEREAS, Senator Rensink's dedication, leadership,
1 13 and expertise in the areas of agriculture and
1 14 education are well recognized; and
1 15 WHEREAS, Senator Rensink formed and has been
1 16 instrumental in leading a weekly morning prayer group
1 17 for legislators and staff for the past six legislative
1 18 sessions; and
1 19 WHEREAS, Senator Rensink has served honorably and
1 20 has unselfishly given of his time and efforts to
1 21 further the interests of the State of Iowa and to
1 22 provide beneficial programs for the citizens of Iowa;
1 23 and
1 24 WHEREAS, Senator Rensink has served on many other
1 25 standing committees throughout his sixteen years of
1 26 legislative service and has been an influential and
1 27 devoted legislator in this state; NOW THEREFORE,
1 28 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE, That the Senate pay
1 29 tribute to Senator Wilmer Rensink for his devoted
1 30 service to the Iowa General Assembly and the citizens
2 1 of this state and wish him the very best in the years
2 2 ahead; and
2 3 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That an official copy of
2 4 this Resolution be prepared and presented to Senator
2 5 Wilmer Rensink.
