  1  4 REGULATING IMPLEMENTS OF HUSBANDRY.

  1  6 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA: 
  1  7 
  1  8    Section 1.  Section 321.453, Code 1997, is amended to read
  1  9 as follows:
  1 10    321.453  EXCEPTIONS.
  1 11    The provisions of this chapter governing size, weight, and
  1 12 load, and the permit requirements of chapter 321E do not apply
  1 13 to fire apparatus, to road maintenance equipment owned by or
  1 14 under lease to any state or local authority, to implements of
  1 15 husbandry temporarily moved upon a highway, to implements of
  1 16 husbandry moved from farm site to farm site or between the
  1 17 retail seller and a farm purchaser within a one hundred mile
  1 18 radius from the retail seller's place of business, to
  1 19 implements of husbandry moved between any site and the site of
  1 20 an agricultural exposition or a fair administered pursuant to
  1 21 chapter 173 or 174, indivisible implements of husbandry
  1 22 temporarily moved between the place of manufacture and a
  1 23 retail seller or a farm purchaser, to implements of husbandry
  1 24 received and moved by a retail seller of implements of
  1 25 husbandry in exchange for an a purchased implement purchased,
  1 26 or to implements of husbandry moved for repairs, except on any
  1 27 part of the interstate highway system.  A vehicle, carrying an
  1 28 implement of husbandry, which is exempted from the permit
  1 29 requirements under this section shall be equipped with an
  1 30 amber flashing light under section 321.423, shall be equipped
  1 31 with warning flags on that portion of the vehicle which
  1 32 protrudes into oncoming traffic, and shall only operate from
  1 33 thirty minutes prior to sunrise to thirty minutes following
  1 34 sunset.
