PAG LIN 1 1 Section 1. Section 99D.9, subsection 6, Code 1997, is 1 2 amended to read as follows: 1 3 6. A licenseemayshall not loan to any person money or 1 4 any other thing of value or permit a financial institution, 1 5 vendor, or other person to loan money on the basis of a credit 1 6 card or similar instrument in person or through an electronic 1 7 or mechanical device including but not limited to a satellite 1 8 terminal as defined in section 527.2 for the purpose of 1 9 permitting that person to wager on any race. The use of a 1 10 check or debit card with overdraft protection is not 1 11 prohibited by this subsection. 1 12 Sec. 2. Section 99F.7, subsection 9, Code 1997, is amended 1 13 to read as follows: 1 14 9. A licensee shall not loan to any person money or any 1 15 other thing of value or permit a financial institution, 1 16 vendor, or other person to loan money on the basis of a credit 1 17 card or similar instrument in person or through an electronic 1 18 or mechanical device including but not limited to a satellite 1 19 terminal as defined in section 527.2 for the purpose of 1 20 permitting that person to wager on any game of chance.
