1 1 Section 1. NEW SECTION. 15A.1A ACCOUNTABILITY REPORT.
1 2 1. A city or county government or a state agency which
1 3 provides any person with any economic development assistance
1 4 in the form of a grant, a loan, a guarantee, a tax incentive,
1 5 or other financial assistance shall file information relating
1 6 to such economic development assistance with the department of
1 7 economic development within thirty days of providing the
1 8 assistance. This information shall include the recipient, the
1 9 amount and purpose of the economic development assistance and,
1 10 if applicable, the name of the program under which the
1 11 economic development assistance was given.
1 12 2. By January 15 of each year, the department shall
1 13 provide all of the following information to the legislative
1 14 fiscal bureau:
1 15 a. All information received under this section during the
1 16 previous calendar year.
1 17 b. All information relating to all economic development
1 18 assistance given by the department to any persons for any
1 19 economic development, job training, or other business-related
1 20 purpose during the previous calendar year. Information shall
1 21 include the recipients, the amounts and purposes of the
1 22 economic development assistance and, if applicable, the names
1 23 of the programs under which the economic development
1 24 assistance was given.
1 25 EXPLANATION
1 26 This bill provides that a city or county government or
1 27 state agency which provides a person with any economic
1 28 development assistance shall file information relating to such
1 29 economic support with the department of economic development.
1 30 The information shall be filed within 30 days of providing the
1 31 support and shall include the recipient, the amount and
1 32 purpose of the economic support, and, if applicable, the name
1 33 of the program under which the economic support was given.
1 34 The bill provides that by January 15 of each year, the
1 35 department of economic development shall forward all
2 1 information received from city and county governments and
2 2 state agencies in the prior calendar year to the legislative
2 3 fiscal bureau along with all information of the same type
2 4 relating to economic support given by the department in the
2 5 prior calendar year.
