1 7 #2. Page 2, by inserting after line 21 the

1 11 "Sec. ___. SPECIAL STUDIES APPROPRIATIONS. There
1 12 is appropriated from the Iowa public employees'
1 13 retirement system fund to the Iowa public employees'
1 14 retirement system division of the department of
1 15 personnel for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1998,
1 16 and ending June 30, 1999, the following amounts, or so
1 17 much thereof as is necessary, to be used for the
1 18 purposes designated:
1 19 1. For costs associated with completing the study
1 20 of the possible establishment of a statewide deferred
1 21 compensation plan for active members of the Iowa
1 22 public employees' retirement system:
1 23 .................................................. $ 20,000
1 24 2. For costs associated with performing the study
1 25 of whether adjunct instructors employed by a community
1 26 college or regents university should be allowed to
1 27 become members of the Iowa public employees'
1 28 retirement system:
1 29 .................................................. $ 15,000
1 30 3. For costs associated with performing, in
1 31 concert with the retirement systems established in
1 32 chapter 97A and chapter 411, a comprehensive
1 33 examination of plan design of benefit parity issues:
