1 1 Amend Senate File 2280 as follows:
1 2 #1. Page 15, by inserting after line 4 the
1 3 following:
1 4 "14. The department shall conduct a comprehensive
1 5 evaluation of the gambling treatment program
1 6 provisions under section 99D.7, subsection 21, and
1 7 additions to and distributions from the gambling
1 8 treatment fund pursuant to section 99E.10, subsection
1 9 1, paragraph "a". The evaluation shall provide
1 10 information and analysis concerning the number of
1 11 referrals to the program, assessments of the success
1 12 rates regarding outpatient and follow-up treatment,
1 13 rehabilitation, and residential treatment programs for
1 14 persons affected by problem gambling, and the extent
1 15 to which information and referral services, and
1 16 education and preventive services, have been
1 17 determined to be effective in preventing the
1 18 development of problem gambling behavior or in
1 19 reaching individuals in need of treatment. The
1 20 evaluation shall also provide an analysis of funding
1 21 levels and contain recommendations with regard to
1 22 future funding of the program and additional treatment
1 23 interventions."
