1 2 amended, passed, and reprinted by the House, as
1 3 follows:
1 4 #1. Page 1, line 22, by striking the word "four"
1 5 and inserting the following: "three".
1 6 #2. Page 1, line 27, by inserting after the word
1 7 "Iowa." the following: "All students must be able to
1 8 read at grade level by the fourth grade and the
1 9 department shall consider this requirement in its
1 10 accreditation process. If a student fails to read at
1 11 grade level by the fourth grade, the school district
1 12 or accredited nonpublic school shall make available
1 13 options to assist the student in reaching this reading
1 14 objective and shall notify the parent or guardian of
1 15 the student of the options available."
