  1  1    Amend House File 697, as amended, passed, and
  1  2 reprinted by the House, as follows:
  1  3    #1.  Page 6, by inserting after line 19, the
  1  4 following:
  1  5    "Sec. ___.  Section 56.42, subsection 2, Code 1997,
  1  6 is amended to read as follows:
  1  7    2.  a.  If an unexpended balance of campaign funds
  1  8 remains in the committee's account when a candidate's
  1  9 committee dissolves, the unexpended balance shall be
  1 10 transferred pursuant to subsection 1.
  1 11    b.  If an unexpended balance of campaign funds
  1 12 remains in the account of a candidate's committee for
  1 13 at least seven years after the candidate's last day of
  1 14 service in a public office, the unexpended balance
  1 15 shall be transferred pursuant to subsection 1,
  1 16 paragraph "b"."
  1 17    #2.  By renumbering as necessary.
