1 1 Amend the Senate amendment, H-1693, to House File
1 2 597, as amended, passed, and reprinted by the House,
1 3 as follows:
1 4 #1. Page 1, by striking lines 17 through 21 and
1 5 inserting the following: "does attend. For a child
1 6 who has completed educational requirements through the
1 7 sixth grade, the means may include but are not limited
1 8 to the use of an attendance cooperation process which
1 9 substantially conforms with the provisions of section
1 10 299.12. If the parent,"."
1 11 #2. Page 1, by striking lines 27 through 33 and
1 12 inserting the following:
1 13 "___. This section is not applicable to a child
1 14 who is receiving competent private instruction in
1 15 accordance with the requirements of chapter 299A. If
1 16 a child is not in compliance with the attendance
1 17 requirements established under section 299.1, and has
1 18 not completed educational requirements through the
1 19 sixth grade, and the school has used every means
1 20 available to assure the child does attend, the school
1 21 truancy officer shall contact the child's parent,
1 22 guardian, or legal or actual custodian to participate
1 23 in an attendance cooperation meeting. The parties to
1 24 the attendance cooperation meeting may include the
1 25 child".

2 10 the contacts for the attendance cooperation meeting.
2 11 The monitor may be a volunteer if the volunteer is
2 12 approved by all parties to the agreement and receives
2 13 a written authorization for access to confidential
2 14 information and for performing monitor activities from
2 15 the child's parent, guardian, or custodian. A monitor
2 16 shall contact".
2 17 #13. Page 2, line 36, by striking the word "may"
