  1  1    Amend House File 540 as follows:
  1  2    #1.  Page 5, by inserting after line 17 the
  1  3 following:
  1  4    "Sec.    .  STATE DEFERRED COMPENSATION PROGRAM.
  1  5 The department of personnel shall make available to
  1  6 eligible public employees the option of utilizing
  1  7 mutual funds in connection with a deferred
  1  8 compensation program established pursuant to section
  1  9 509A.12 by September 1, 1997."
