1 4 #1. Page 1, by inserting after line 2 the
1 5 following:
1 6 "# . Page 1, line 2, by striking the figure "1."
1 7 and inserting the following:
1 8 "1. a."
1 9 # . Page 1, by inserting after line 13 the
1 10 following:
1 11 "b. If a child whose needs are included in a cash
1 12 assistance grant is older than the compulsory
1 13 attendance age under section 299.1A and is not
1 14 actively completing educational requirements for
1 15 graduation in an accredited school or would not be
1 16 excepted from attendance requirements under section
1 17 299.2 if section 299.2 was applicable to the child,
1 18 the child's family shall be subject to sanction as
1 19 provided in this section."
1 20 # . Page 1, line 16, by inserting after the word
1 21 "chapter" the following: "who has not completed
1 22 educational requirements through the sixth grade"."
1 23 #2. Page 1, by inserting after line 6 the
1 24 following:
1 25 "# . Page 2, line 20, by inserting after the
1 26 word "section." the following: "A sanction shall also
1 27 be applied if a school truancy officer provides
1 28 notification to the department of human services as
1 29 provided in section 299.12 that a child whose needs
1 30 are included in a cash assistance grant under the
1 31 family investment program and who is older than the
1 32 compulsory attendance age under section 299.1A is not
1 33 actively completing educational requirements for
1 34 graduation in an accredited school or would not be
1 35 excepted from attendance requirements under section
1 36 299.2 if section 299.2 was applicable to the child."

1 38 following:
1 39 "e. For a child subject to sanction under
1 40 subsection 1, paragraph "b", the child would qualify
1 41 for an exception to attendance requirements under
1 42 section 299.2 if section 299.2 was applicable to the
1 43 child.""
1 44 #3. Page 1, by inserting after line 13 the
1 45 following:
1 46 "# . Page 3, line 5, by inserting after the word
1 47 "truant" the following: "or is subject to sanction
1 48 under subsection 1, paragraph "b""."
1 49 #4. Page 2, line 43, by inserting after the word
1 50 "services." the following: "The school truancy
2 1 officer may also provide notification to the
2 2 department of human services as provided in section
2 3 239.5B that a child whose needs are included in a cash
2 4 assistance grant under the family investment program
2 5 and who is older than compulsory attendance age under
2 6 section 299.1A is not actively completing educational
