  1  1    Amend Senate File 503 as follows:
  1  2    #1.  Page 1, line 10, by inserting after the word
  1  3 "years." the following:  "The person shall also be
  1  4 required to undergo an assessment to determine whether
  1  5 the person is addicted to methamphetamine or other
  1  6 controlled substances, which shall include the
  1  7 examination and testing of hair samples from the
  1  8 person.  If the assessment reveals that the person is
  1  9 addicted to methamphetamine or other controlled
  1 10 substances, the person shall, as part of the person's
  1 11 sentence, be required to participate in no less than
  1 12 two years of substance abuse treatment, which may be
  1 13 conducted on an outpatient basis."
