PAG LIN 1 1 Section 1. Section 279.35, Code 1997, is amended to read 1 2 as follows: 1 3 279.35 PUBLICATION OF PROCEEDINGS. 1 4 The proceedings of each regular, adjourned, or special 1 5 meeting of the board, including the schedule of bills allowed, 1 6 shall be published after the adjournment of the meeting in the 1 7 manner provided in this section and section 279.36, and the 1 8 publication of the schedule of the bills allowed shall include 1 9 a list of claims allowed, including salary claims for services 1 10 performed. The schedule of bills allowed may be published on 1 11 a once monthly basis in lieu of publication with the 1 12 proceedings of each meeting of the board. The list of claims 1 13 allowed shall include the name of the person or firm making 1 14 the claim, the purpose of the claim,and the amount of the 1 15 claim. However, salaries paid to individuals regularly 1 16 employed by the district shall only be published annually and 1 17 the publication shall include the total amount of the annual 1 18 salary of each employee. The secretary shall furnish a copy 1 19 of the proceedings to be published within two weeks following 1 20 the adjournment of the meeting. 1 21 EXPLANATION 1 22 This bill relates to information included in the published 1 23 lists of claims allowed by the board of directors of a school 1 24 district. 1 25 Currently, the information regarding claims allowed by the 1 26 board required to be published includes the name of the person 1 27 or firm making the claim, the purpose of the claim, and the 1 28 amount of the claim. Under the bill, the board would no 1 29 longer have to include in the published list the purpose of 1 30 the claim. 1 31 LSB 4100HH 77 1 32 kh/jl/8
