1 1 Section 1. Section 481A.68, Code 1997, is amended by
1 2 adding the following new subsection:
1 3 NEW SUBSECTION. 2A. A person shall not use more than two
1 4 tip-up fishing devices for fishing in the waters of the
1 5 Missouri and Big Sioux rivers. A person may use two tip-ups
1 6 and two other lines with one hook each or four hooks may be
1 7 used in any combination, but the total number of hooks used by
1 8 each person shall not exceed four. Each tip-up fishing device
1 9 used in fishing shall have attached a tag plainly labeled with
1 10 the owner's name and address.
1 11 EXPLANATION
1 12 This bill provides that a person may use not more than two
1 13 tip-up fishing devices for fishing in the waters of the
1 14 Missouri and Big Sioux rivers. A person may use two tip-up
1 15 fishing devices and two other lines with one hook each for
1 16 fishing or four hooks in any combination, but the total number
1 17 of hooks used by each person shall not exceed four.
1 18 A violator is guilty of a simple misdemeanor with a minimum
1 19 fine of $10.
