1 1 Section 1. Section 321.194, subsection 1, paragraph a,
1 2 subparagraph (1), Code 1997, is amended to read as follows:
1 3 (1) During the hours of 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. over the most
1 4 direct and accessible route between the licensee's residence
1 5 and schools of enrollment and between schools of enrollment
1 6 for the purpose of attending duly scheduled courses of
1 7 instruction and extracurricular activities at the schools or
1 8 at property owned by the schools, provided that the licensee
1 9 is a participant in a course of instruction or extracurricular
1 10 activity held at the property owned by the schools.
1 11 Sec. 2. EFFECTIVE DATE. This Act, being deemed of
1 12 immediate importance, takes effect upon enactment.
1 13 EXPLANATION
1 14 This bill allows a minor who has been issued a special
1 15 minor's license allowing for travel to and from school to
1 16 travel to courses of instruction and extracurricular
1 17 activities that are held at property owned by the school
1 18 provided that the licensee is a participant in a course of
1 19 instruction or extracurricular activity held at the property
1 20 owned by the school. The bill is effective upon enactment.
