  1  1    Amend House File 2539 as follows:
  1  2    #1.  Page 34, by inserting after line 27 the
  1  3 following:
  1  4    "Sec. ___.  Section 811.2, subsection 1, Code 1997,
  1  5 is amended by adding the following new unnumbered
  1  6 paragraph:
  1  7    NEW UNNUMBERED PARAGRAPH.  Any bailable defendant
  1  8 who is charged with unlawful possession, manufacture,
  1  9 delivery, or distribution of methamphetamine and is
  1 10 ordered released shall be required, as a condition of
  1 11 that release, to submit to a substance abuse
  1 12 evaluation and follow any recommendations proposed in
  1 13 the evaluation for appropriate substance abuse
  1 14 treatment."
  1 15    #2.  By numbering and renumbering as necessary.
