  1  1    Amend House File 2498 as follows:
  1  2    #1.  Page 10, by inserting after line 15 the
  1  3 following:
  1  4    "The department of inspections and appeals may
  1  5 conduct, contract for, or permit health facilities to
  1  6 contract for the performance of health facility
  1  7 construction inspections as required under chapter
  1  8 135C.  The department shall review all proposed plans
  1  9 and specifications, and shall conduct the final on-
  1 10 site review and approval of all alterations,
  1 11 additions, or new construction prior to occupancy.
  1 12 The director shall adopt rules pursuant to chapter 17A
  1 13 to implement this paragraph."
