1 2 #1. Page 1, by inserting after line 3 the
1 3 following:
1 4 "Sec. ___. Section 97A.6, subsection 2, paragraph
1 5 d, Code 1997, is amended by adding the following new
1 6 subparagraph:
1 7 NEW SUBPARAGRAPH. (3A) Commencing July 1, 1998,
1 8 and notwithstanding the provisions of this paragraph
1 9 to the contrary, for a member who terminated service,
1 10 other than by death or disability, before July 1,
1 11 1996, and who did not withdraw the member's
1 12 contributions pursuant to section 97A.16, there shall
1 13 be added one and one-half percent of the member's
1 14 average final compensation for each year of service
1 15 over twenty-two years effective with each monthly
1 16 payment of a service retirement allowance on or after
1 17 July 1, 1998. However, this subparagraph does not
1 18 apply to more than eight additional years of service."
