  1  1    Amend House File 2495 as follows:
  1  2    #1.  Page 1, by inserting after line 7 the
  1  3 following:
  1  4    "Sec. ___.  Section 39.5, unnumbered paragraph 2,
  1  5 Code Supplement 1997, is amended to read as follows:
  1  6    This section does not prohibit the governing body
  1  7 of a city or county from adopting an ordinance
  1  8 providing for elections on matters under the
  1  9 jurisdiction of the governing body.  Such elections
  1 10 shall be of an advisory nature only and shall not be
  1 11 binding on the governing body submitting the matter to
  1 12 an election."
  1 13    #2.  Page 9, by striking lines 2 through 5.
  1 14    #3.  By renumbering as necessary.
