1 2 #1. Page 13, by inserting after line 26 the
1 3 following:
1 4 "Sec. ___. NEW SECTION. 514I.10 FAMILY COVERAGE.
1 5 The state child health plan submitted to the
1 6 secretary of the United States department of health
1 7 and human services for approval shall include a
1 8 request for a waiver for the purchase of family
1 9 coverage under a group health plan or health insurance
1 10 coverage that includes coverage of eligible children
1 11 in accordance with the requirements of Title XXI of
1 12 the federal Social Security Act. As required by the
1 13 federal Social Security Act, the state plan shall
1 14 provide that the purchase of the coverage is cost-
1 15 effective relative to the amounts that the state would
1 16 have paid to obtain comparable coverage only of the
1 17 eligible children involved, and that the coverage
1 18 shall not be provided if the coverage would otherwise
1 19 substitute for health insurance coverage that would be
1 20 provided to eligible children but for the purchase of
1 21 family coverage."
