  1  1    Amend the amendment, H-1866, to Senate File 549, as
  1  2 amended, passed, and reprinted by the Senate, as
  1  3 follows:
  1  4    #1.  Page 5, by striking line 27 and inserting the
  1  5 following:  "256A.3.
  1  6    Sec. 200.  Section 256.9, Code 1997, is amended by
  1  7 adding the following new subsection:
  1  8    NEW SUBSECTION.  49.  Calculate, every two years,
  1  9 for purposes of the statement of account requirement
  1 10 of section 260C.14, subsection 2A, the average cost of
  1 11 an Iowa resident student's education at a community
  1 12 college and shall also calculate the average amount by
  1 13 which state moneys subsidize the average state
  1 14 resident student's tuition costs at a community
  1 15 college.""
  1 16    #2.  Page 6, line 34, by inserting after the word
  1 17 "be" the following:  "prominently".
  1 18    #3.  Page 6, line 38, by inserting after the word
  1 19 "by" the following:  "tuition and the amount paid by".
  1 20    #4.  Page 6, line 39, by inserting after the word
  1 21 "state" the following:  "based upon calculations made
  1 22 by the department of education as required under
  1 23 section 256.9, subsection 49".
  1 24    #5.  Page 6, line 44, by striking the word "this"
  1 25 and inserting the following:  "a state".
  1 26    #6.  Page 6, line 47, by striking the word "at
  1 27 this" and inserting the following:  "attending a
  1 28 state".
  1 29    #7.  Page 8, line 11, by inserting after the word
  1 30 "Sections" the following:  "200,".
  1 31    #8.  Page 8, line 14, by inserting after the word
  1 32 "enactment" the following:  "and apply to statements
  1 33 of account issued after January 1, 1998".
