PAG LIN 1 1 Amend Senate File 516, as amended, passed, and 1 2 reprinted by the Senate, as follows: 1 3 #1. Page 32, by inserting after line 8 the 1 4 following: 1 5 "DIVISION III 1 6 Sec. . Section 239B.12, subsection 1, as 1 7 enacted by this Act, is amended by striking the 1 8 subsection and inserting in lieu thereof the 1 9 following: 1 10 1. a. The department shall require immunizations 1 11 of children who are preschool age and are a member of 1 12 a family receiving assistance under this chapter. The 1 13 department shall adopt rules setting forth the 1 14 immunization requirements which shall be in accordance 1 15 with the immunization recommendations adopted by the 1 16 Iowa department of public health under section 139.9, 1 17 including the exemption provisions in section 139.9, 1 18 subsection 4. The rules shall specify the types of 1 19 immunizations required, the age groupings to which the 1 20 requirements apply, and other provisions. The rules 1 21 shall also include exemptions for good cause or for 1 22 factors beyond the control of the child's parent, 1 23 guardian, or custodian. The exemptions shall be in 1 24 addition to those established by the Iowa department 1 25 of public health. 1 26 b. Unless exempt by rule, a participant family 1 27 which is not in compliance with an immunization 1 28 requirement shall be subject to sanction. The 1 29 sanction shall be a deduction from cash benefit 1 30 assistance payable to the participant family in an 1 31 amount equivalent to twenty-five percent of the 1 32 applicable family investment program payment standard. 1 33 The sanction shall apply until the participant family 1 34 complies with the immunization requirement. 1 35 Sec. ___. Section 239B.12, subsection 2, as 1 36 enacted by this Act, is amended to read as follows: 1 37 2. The department of human services shall 1 38 cooperate with the Iowa department of public health to 1 39 establish an interagency agreement allowing the 1 40 sharing of pertinent client data, as permitted under 1 41 federal law and regulation, for the purposes of 1 42 determining immunization rates of participants, 1 43 evaluating family investment program efforts to 1 44encouragerequire immunizations, and developing 1 45 strategies to further encourage immunization of 1 46 participants. 1 47 Sec. .
