Make a comparison of the costs related to the 1 31 issuance of driver's licenses by the department and 1 32 the six counties and methods for tracking costs of 1 33 issuance of driver's licenses on a statewide basis, 1 34 including the length of time necessary to track the 1 35 costs to ensure the results provide an accurate 1 36 representation of the costs incurred by the counties 1 37 and the department. The committee shall also provide 1 38 an analysis of transition and future costs of 1 39 operation if statewide county issuance of driver's 1 40 licenses is recommended. 1 41 2. Consider the need for and recommend 1 42 comprehensive and consistent guidelines for all 1 43 driver's license activities. 1 44 3. Conduct a customer survey in the six counties 1 45 currently issuing driver's licenses and at selected 1 46 driver's license stations operated by the department. 1 47 4. Make a recommendation on whether the issuance 1 48 of driver's licenses by county treasurers should be 1 49 expanded, whether the department should provide more 1 50 hours of operation at some or all driver's license 2 1 stations, whether the current law should remain 2 2 unchanged, or whether other changes should be made. 2 3 The recommendations shall include an analysis of the 2 4 potential impact upon the continued quality, 2 5 consistency, effectiveness, and services provided by 2 6 current driver's licensing operations for commercial 2 7 and noncommercial drivers. 2 8 Following". 2 9 #7.
