presiding.

The Journal of Tuesday, January 16, 1996, was approved.
HOUSE MESSAGE RECEIVED
The following message was received from the Chief Clerk of the
House:
MR. PRESIDENT: I am directed to inform your honorable body that the
House has on January 11, 1996, adopted the following resolution in which
the concurrence of the House was asked:
Senate Concurrent Resolution 102, a concurrent resolution
designating the week of January 7-14, 1996, as Childrens Week in Iowa.
INTRODUCTION OF BILL
Senate File 2052, by Vilsack, a bill for an act relating to an
assessment of the employability skills of recent high school graduates
by the board of directors of a school district and providing an
appropriation.

resolution posthumously honoring Mr. Loren Callendar, and recognizing
his many contributions to city government and to the citizens of
Siouxland.
Recommendation: DO PASS.
Final Vote: Ayes, 15: Hansen, Judge, Zieman, Bennett, Boettger, Borlaug,
Flynn, Giannetto, Kibbie, Maddox, McKean, Palmer, Sorensen, Szymoniak
