         A senate resolution requesting the House of Representatives to
    override the Governors item veto of certain provisions of House File
    2114.



                      REPORT OF THE SECRETARY OF THE SENATE

         MR. PRESIDENT: Pursuant to Senate Rule 21, I report that in
    engrossing Senate File 2224, the following correction was made:

         1. Page 18, line 26, the word and number Section 26 was changed to
    the word and number Section 24.

                            PRESENTATION OF VISITORS

         Senator Husak welcomed the Honorable Gene Kennedy, former member of
    the House and Senate from Dubuque County, who was present in the Senate
    chamber.

         Senator Jensen welcomed the Honorable Edgar H. Holden, former
    member of the House and Senate from Scott County, who was present in the
    Senate chamber.

         The Chair welcomed the following visitors who were present in the
    Senate gallery:

         Thirty-one twelfth grade students from Ruthven-Ayrshire High
    School, Ruthven, accompanied by Mr. Jospheson. Senator Kibbie.

         Thirty twelfth grade students from Benton Community High School,
    Van Horne, accompanied by Ron Donald and Doug Embray. Senator Husak.



                           CERTIFICATES OF RECOGNITION

         The secretary of the senate issued certificates of recognition as
    follows:

         The Dowling Maroons, Dowling High School - For winning the Class
    4-A State Championship. Senator Maddox (3-19-96).

         Coach Bob Miller and the Rock Valley Basketball Team - For winning
    the state Class 1-A boys basketball championship. Senator Rensink
    (3-19-96).
