               REPORT OF THE COMMITTEE ON RULES AND ADMINISTRATION

         The committee on Rules and Administration referred the following
    Governors appointments to state boards, commissions and departments to
    Senate standing committees as indicated for investigation on March 20,
    1996:

                                   AGRICULTURE

         Steven A. Basler, Sonja J. Larsen and Diana L. Stadtmueller as
    members of the Agricultural Development Authority.

         Marie G. Ellingson and Carolyn A. Roberts as members of the Iowa
    Grain Indemnity Fund Board.

         Russell L. Brandes as a member of the State Soil Conservation
    Committee.

                               BUSINESS AND LABOR

         Harrison Weber as a member of the Employment Appeal Board.

         David D. Knock and M. Sue Warner as members of the Public
    Employment Relations Board.

                                    COMMERCE

         Margaret M. Chadwell and Ernest W. Gilson as members of the Credit
    Union Review Board.

                      COMMUNICATIONS AND INFORMATION POLICY

         Richard H. Opie as a member and chair of the Iowa
    Telecommunications and Technology Commission.

                                    EDUCATION

         Harriet B. Gottlieb as a member of the Iowa Higher Education Loan
    Authority.

         Marilyn J. Perkins as a member of the School Budget Review
    Committee.

         Susan J. Clouser, Corine A. Hadley, Mary Jean Montgomery and Gene
    E. Vincent as members of the State Board of Education.

         Roger L. Lande as a member of the State Board of Regents.
