                             COMPANION BILL RECEIVED

         On March 11, 1996, House File 2365 was received and attached to
    companion Senate File 2255 on the Senate calendar.



                            PRESENTATION OF VISITORS

         The Chair welcomed the following visitors who were present in the
    Senate gallery:

         Thirty-six Young Leaders in Action from Black Hawk County,
    accompanied by Amy De Haan. Senators Lind and Redfern.

         Forty-two sixth grade students from Lenox Elementary School, Lenox,
    accompanied by Mrs. Janet Reed and Mr. David Koets. Senator Boswell.



                 PLACEMENT ON INDIVIDIDUAL CONFIRMATION CALENDAR

         Pursuant to Senate Rule 59, the following governors appointee
    referred to the committee on Education on February 15, 1996, was
    automatically placed on the Individual Confirmation Calendar without
    recommendation:

         Marvin A. Pomerantz as a member of the State Board of Regents.

                                 HUMAN RESOURCES

         Pursuant to Senate Rule 59, the committee on Human Resources
    assigned to investigate the following governors appointments, completed
    its investigations on March 7, 1996, and recommended the appointees be
    confirmed:

         Dr. Laine D. Dvorak as a member of the Board of Physician Assistant
    Examiners.

         Susan R. Ryan as a member of the Community Health Management
    Information System Governing Board.
