The Senate met in regular session at 2:08 p.m., President Boswell
presiding.
Prayer was offered by Monsignor Edward Lechtenberg, of the St.
Patrick Catholic Church, Waukon, Iowa.
The Journal of Thursday, March 7, 1996, was approved.
HOUSE MESSAGES RECEIVED AND CONSIDERED
The following messages were received from the Chief Clerk of the
House:
MR. PRESIDENT: I am directed to inform your honorable body that the
House has on March 11, 1995, passed the following bills in which the
concurrence of the Senate is asked:
House File 2355, a bill for an act relating to the establishment
of personal needs trusts for persons with disabilities.
This bill was read first time and passed on file.
House File 2365, a bill for an act relating to the authority of
fiduciaries under the probate code to invest in open-end or closed-end
management investment companies or investment trusts.
This bill was read first time and passed on file.
INTRODUCTION OF RESOLUTION
Senate Resolution 105, by committee on Human Resources, a senate
resolution requesting a review of the legislative rules comprising the
legislative session timetable for requesting, considering, and debating
bills and resolutions.
