    Member; Black, Fraise, Halvorson, Judge, and Zieman.

    Members Absent: McKean and Rittmer (both excused).

    Committee Business: Assigned bills to subcommittees.

    Adjourned: 4:41 p.m.



                            PRESENTATION OF VISITORS

         The Chair welcomed the following visitors who were present in the
    Senate gallery:

         Seventh and eighth grade students, members of the 4-H program from
    Benton, Iowa, Poweshiek and Tama Counties, accompanied by Nancy Allen.
    Senators Black and Husak.



                           CERTIFICATES OF RECOGNITION

         The secretary of the senate issued the following certificates of
    recognition:

         Mr. Steve Wilson and the Regals, Iowa City - For outstanding
    performance in the Class 2-A Girls State high school basketball
    tournament. Senator Dvorsky (3-7-96).

         Taurin McGrath, Iowa City - For dedication and commitment in duties
    as an intern to Senator Robert E. Dvorsky. Senator Dvorsky (3-7-96).



                              MOTION TO RECONSIDER

         MR. PRESIDENT: I move to reconsider the vote by which amendment
    S-5160 to Senate File 2265 was adopted by the Senate on March 6, 1996.
