The Senate met in regular session at 9:06 a.m., President Boswell
presiding.
Prayer was offered by the Reverend Harold Stone, pastor of the
Berean Assembly of God Church, Pleasant Hill, Iowa.
The Journal of Wednesday, February 21, 1996, was approved.
HOUSE MESSAGE RECEIVED
The following message was received from the Chief Clerk of the
House:
MR. PRESIDENT: I am directed to inform your honorable body that the
House has on February 21, 1996, passed the following bill in which the
concurrence of the House was asked:
Senate File 2066, a bill for an act relating to assisted suicide
and providing criminal penalties.
INTRODUCTION OF BILL
Senate File 2266, by committee on Transportation, a bill for an
act making transportation-related Code changes including providing for a
temporary registration permit, increasing registration fees for certain
trailers, and providing an effective date.
Read first time and placed on calendar.
President pro tempore Bisignano took the chair at 9:53 a.m.
Senator Connolly took the chair at 10:12 a.m.
