to have passed the House and the title, as amended, was agreed

LEAVE OF ABSENCE
Leave of absence was granted as follows:
Cohoon of Des Moines, until his return, on request of Schrader
of Marion.
House File 2458, a bill for an act relating to the right to
appointed counsel or a public defender, by relating to the
eligibility for certain indigents, the recovery of defense
costs, and by restricting the right to counsel for certain
parents in child in need of assistance cases, was taken up for
consideration.
Millage of Scott offered the following amendment H-5269 filed by
him and moved its adoption:

 1     Amend House File 2458 as follows:
 2     1.  Page 1, line 24, by striking the word "a" and
 3   inserting the following:  "an incarcerated".
Amendment H-5269 was adopted.
Kreiman of Davis offered the following amendment H-5268 filed by
him and moved its adoption:

 1     Amend House File 2458 as follows:
 2     1.  Page 1, by striking lines 17 through 25.
 3     2.  Title page, by striking lines 3 through 5 and
 4   inserting the following:  "indigents and the recovery
 5   of defense costs."
 6     3.  By renumbering as necessary.
