                                    PETITIONS

         The following petitions were presented and placed on file by:

         Senator Giannetto from 1,014 residents of Iowa favoring the
    creation of and funding for a state veterans advocacy division to help
    protect and preserve the rights of our past, present and future
    veterans.

         Senator Zieman from 32 residents of Amnesty International opposing
    reinstatement of the death penalty in Iowa.
