    Senate File 471

         On motion of Senator Szymoniak, Senate File 471, a bill for an act
    relating to the wagering tax on gambling games at pari-mutuel racetrack
    enclosures, was taken up for consideration.

         Senator Halvorson asked and received unanimous consent that action
    on Senate File 471 be deferred.

    Senate File 18

         On motion of Senator Iverson, Senate File 18, a bill for an act
    exempting from the sales, services, and use tax specific items used by
    printers and publishers, with report of committee recommending amendment
    and passage, was taken up for consideration.

         Senator Iverson offered amendment S-3272 filed by Senators Palmer,
    et al., on March 29, 1995, to strike everything after the enacting
    clause and to the title page of the bill and moved its adoption.

         Amendment S-3272 was adopted by a voice vote.

         With the adoption of amendment S-3272, the Chair ruled the
    following amendments out of order:

         S-3076 filed by the committee on Ways and Means on February 23,
    1995, to page 2 of the bill.

         S-3229 filed by Senator Iverson on March 27, 1995, to page 2 of the
    bill.

         Senator Iverson asked and received unanimous consent that House
    File 185 be substituted for Senate File 18 as amended.

    House File 185

         On motion of Senator Iverson, House File 185, a bill for an act
    relating to the sales, services, and use tax exemption for items used by
    printers and publishers, limiting the amount of refunds, and providing
    retroactive and applicability date provisions, was taken up for
    consideration.

         Senator Iverson withdrew amendment S-3274 filed by him on March 29,
    1995 to page 2 of the bill.
