                   Des Moines, Iowa, Thursday, April 13, 1995



         The Senate met in regular session at 9:20 a.m., President Boswell
    presiding.

         Prayer was offered by Dr. Craig Bex, pastor of the Community
    Church, Kamrar, Iowa.

         The Chair announced that the Journal of April 12, 1995, page 1180,
    would be corrected to show Allan T. Thoms confirmed as a member, not
    Chairperson, of the Utilities Board.

         The Journal of Wednesday, April 12, 1995, as corrected, was
    approved.



                             HOUSE MESSAGES RECEIVED

         The following messages were received from the Chief Clerk of the
    House:

         MR. PRESIDENT: I am directed to inform your honorable body that the
    House has on April 12, 1995, passed the following bills in which the
    concurrence of the House was asked:

         Senate File 272, a bill for  an act relating to the validity of a
    notarial act by an officer, director, or shareholder of a corporation
    and providing for retroactive application.

         Senate File 320, a bill for  an act relating to the regulation of
    state banks and other financial institutions by the division of banking
    of the department of commerce.

         Senate File 341, a bill for  an act relating to delinquency charges
    on credit cards used to purchase or lease goods or services from less
    than one hundred persons not related to the card issuer.
