    Final Bill Action: SENATE FILE 412 (SSB 338), a bill for an act relating
    to the Iowa communications network by making an appropriation to be used
    for Part III connections.

    Recommendation: APPROVED COMMITTEE BILL.

    Final Vote: Ayes, 6: Dvorsky, Deluhery, McLaren, Flynn, Hansen and
    Redfern. Nays, none. Absent or not voting, 1: Jensen.

    Fiscal Note: REQUIRED UNDER JOINT RULE 17.



    EDUCATION

    Final Bill Action: *SENATE FILE 420 (SSB 323), a bill for an act
    establishing a grant program to support school-to-work efforts and
    making an appropriation.

    Recommendation: APPROVED COMMITTEE BILL.

    Final Vote: Ayes, 14:  Connolly, Kibbie, Redfern, Deluhery, Dvorsky,
    Fink, Hammond, Iverson, Kramer, Murphy, Neuhauser, Rensink, Szymoniak
    and Tinsman. Nays, none. Absent or not voting, 1: Lind.

    Fiscal Note: NOT REQUIRED UNDER JOINT RULE 17.

         *Pursuant to Senate Rule 40, the Legislative Service Bureau
    reported nonsubstantive changes to the members of the Education
    Committee on Senate File 420 and they were attached to the committee
    report.



    ETHICS

    Final Bill Action: *SENATE FILE 434 (SSB 175), a bill for an act
    relating to state government ethics and lobbying, by changing the
    definition of lobbyist, amending the ethics and campaign disclosure
    board complaint process, amending the two-year ban on activities by
    certain former state officers and employees, revising personal financial
    disclosure statement requirements, and making other changes related to
    the filing of personal financial disclosure statements.

    Recommendation: APPROVED COMMITTEE BILL.

    Final Vote: Ayes, 6: Husak, Neuhauser, Hedge, Drake, Gettings and
    McKean. Nays, none.

    Fiscal Note: NOT REQUIRED UNDER JOINT RULE 17.
