         The following communications from the governor were received in the
    office of the Secretary of the Senate:

    Dear Mr. Dwyer:

         It is my pleasure to submit to the Senate for their consideration
    the following governors appointees as members of state boards,
    departments and commissions pursuant to 1995 Code of Iowa sections:

         As members of the Accountancy Examining Board pursuant to Section
    542C.3 for terms beginning May 1, 1995, and ending April 30, 1998:

         Jean E. Kruse, Cedar Rapids, Linn County, for reappointment; John
    M. Sklenar, Carroll, Carroll County, for appointment and Dorothy L.
    Votroubek, Davenport, Scott County, for reappointment.

         James Smith, Des Moines, Polk County, for reappointment as the
    Administrator of the Division of Community Action Agencies pursuant to
    Section 216A.2 for a term beginning May 1, 1995, and to serve at the
    pleasure of the Governor.

         Donald W. Westergard, Indianola, Warren County, for reappointment
    as the Administrator of the Division of Persons with Disabilities
    pursuant to Section 216A.2 for a term beginning May 1, 1995, and to
    serve at the pleasure of the Governor.

         Romelle H. Slaughter, Des Moines, Polk County, for appointment as
    the Administrator of the Division on the Status of African-Americans
    pursuant to Section 216A.2 for a term beginning  February 10, 1995, and
    to serve at the pleasure of the Governor.

         Charlotte B. Nelson, Des Moines, Polk County, for reappointment as
    the Administrator of the Division on the Status of Women pursuant to
    Section 216A.2 for a term beginning May 1, 1995, and to serve at the
    pleasure of the Governor.

         Major General Warren G. Lawson, Johnston, Polk County, for
    reappointment as Adjutant General pursuant to Section 29A.11 for a term
    beginning May 1, 1995, and to serve at the pleasure of the Governor.

         For appointment as members of the Alcoholic Beverages Commission
    pursuant to Section 123.5:
