                   Des Moines, Iowa, Wednesday, March 15, 1995



         The Senate met in regular session at 9:13 a.m., President Boswell
    presiding.

         Prayer was offered by the Reverend Gary Van Heukelom, pastor of the
    First Reformed Church, Sibley, Iowa.

         The Journal of Tuesday, March 14, 1995, was approved.



                     HOUSE MESSAGES RECEIVED AND CONSIDERED

         The following messages were received from the Chief Clerk of the
    House:

         MR. PRESIDENT: I am directed to inform your honorable body that the
    House has on March 14, 1995, adopted the conference committee report and
    passed Senate File 17, a bill for  an act establishing the state percent
    of growth for the school budget year beginning July 1, 1995, for
    purposes of the state school foundation program and providing effective
    and applicability date provisions.

         ALSO: That the House has on March 14, 1995, passed the following
    bill in which the concurrence of the Senate is asked:

         House File 438, a bill for  an act relating to the establishment of
    the state percent of growth under the state school foundation formula.

         This bill was read first time and passed on file.



                              INTRODUCTION OF BILLS

         Senate File 341, by committee on Commerce, a bill for  an act
    relating to delinquency charges on credit cards used to purchase or
    lease goods or services from less than one hundred persons not related
    to the card issuer.

         Read first time and placed on calendar.
