SIXTY-FOURTH CALENDAR DAY THIRTY-EIGHTH SESSION DAY Senate Chamber Des Moines, Iowa, Monday, March 13, 1995 The Senate met in regular session at 1:17 p.m., President pro tempore Bisignano presiding. Prayer was offered by the Reverend Neil Solomonson, pastor of the Salem Lutheran Church, Andrew, Iowa. The Journal of Thursday, March 9, 1995, was approved. HOUSE MESSAGE RECEIVED AND CONSIDERED The following message was received from the Chief Clerk of the House: MR. PRESIDENT: I am directed to inform your honorable body that the House has on March 9, 1995, adopted the following resolution in which the concurrence of the Senate is asked: House Concurrent Resolution 8, a concurrent resolution supporting the United Nations recognition of the Republic of China on Taiwan. This bill was read first time and passed on file. INTRODUCTION OF RESOLUTIONS Senate Concurrent Resolution 23, by Lind, a concurrent resolution urging support of public broadcasting in Iowa. Read first time and passed on file. Senate Concurrent Resolution 24, by Hammond, Drake, Gronstal, Connolly, Szymoniak, and Dvorsky, a concurrent resolution recognizing the Seventy-fifth Anniversary of the American Civil Liberties Union and the Sixtieth Anniversary of the Iowa Civil Liberties Union.
