         She stated that as she travels around the state and country, she
    hopes to reinforce the message that pork production is one of the
    factors that make Iowas rural communities and state a great place to
    live.



                          CONSIDERATION OF RESOLUTIONS

                               (Regular Calendar)

         Senator Horn asked and received unanimous consent to take up for
    consideration House Concurrent Resolutions 20 and 21 and Senate Joint
    Resolution 12.

    House Concurrent Resolution 21

         On motion of Senator Rife, House Concurrent Resolution 21, a
    concurrent resolution honoring Ms. Sugar Macaulay upon her retirement as
    the Capitol Tour Guide Supervisor, with report of committee recommending
    passage, was taken up for consideration.

         Senator Rife moved the adoption of House Concurrent Resolution 21,
    which motion prevailed by a voice vote.

    House Concurrent Resolution 20

         On motion of Senator Husak, House Concurrent Resolution 20, a
    concurrent resolution relating to Pioneer Lawmakers, with report of
    committee recommending passage, was taken up for consideration.

         Senator Husak moved the adoption of House Concurrent Resolution 20,
    which motion prevailed by a voice vote.

         The Senate stood at ease at 9:22 a.m. until the fall of the gavel
    for the purpose of a committee meeting.

         The Senate resumed session at 9:35 a.m., President Boswell
    presiding.

    Senate Joint Resolution 12

         On motion of Senator Kramer, Senate Joint Resolution 12, a joint
    resolution authorizing the temporary use and consumption of alcoholic
    beverages in the State Capitol in conjunction with a buffet dinner
    sponsored by the Des Moines Rotary Club and featuring the State Capitol
