The Senate met in regular session at 1:53 p.m., President Boswell
presiding.
Prayer was offered by the Reverend Karen Groe Dearchs, pastor of
Methodist Churches in Hornick and Smithland, Iowa.
The Journal of Friday, February 10, 1995, was approved.
SPECIAL GUESTS
Senator Szymoniak introduced Kelifola Dabo, Jalall Reed, Johari
Reed and Edward Rhodes, members of Boy Scout Troop 48, who led the
Senate in the Pledge of Allegiance in honor of Boy Scout month.
LEAVES OF ABSENCE
Leaves of absence were granted as follows:
Senators Lundby and McKean until they arrive on request of Senator
Bartz.
INTRODUCTION OF BILLS
Senate File 137, by Freeman, a bill for an act requiring
implementation of a single entry point process for delivery of mental
health, mental retardation, and developmental disabilities services, and
providing an applicability provision.
Read first time and passed on file.
Senate File 138, by Iverson, a bill for an act providing for a
call of the senate and house of representatives and requirements
relating to the passage of a bill by the general assembly which
establishes the state percent of growth for a budget year.
