                                 COMMUNICATIONS

         The following communications have been received and placed  on file
    in the office of the Secretary of the Senate during the 1994 legislative
    interim:

                          IOWA CITIZENS AIDE/OMBUDSMAN

         1993 Annual Report.

                           OFFICE OF AUDITOR OF STATE

         The audit of the State of Iowa covering the fiscal year ended June
    30, 1993, performed in accordance with generally accepted auditing
    standards, the Single Audit Act of 1984, and OMB Circular A-128, Audits
    of State and Local Governments.

                        IOWA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION

         A publication of the annual sufficiency rating report showing the
    relative conditions of the primary roads as required by Iowa Code
    Section 307A.2(12).

                        IOWA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY

         Iowa Hate/Bias Crime Report for Iowa.  It provides information
    about crimes reported to Iowa law enforcement agencies from 1991 through
    1993 which were motivated by bias based on victims race, color,
    religion, ancestry, national origin, political affiliation, sex, sexual
    orientation, age and those persons associated with individuals in these
    groupings.

                         DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES

         The biennial report on the floodplain mapping plan for the
    1993-1994 biennium.

                             CITIZENS AIDE OMBUDSMAN

         A copy of Critical Report 94-2, Investigation of the response by
    officials of the Roland-Story Community School district to reports of
    alleged abuse of students by and employee.

                           OFFICE OF AUDITOR OF STATE

         A copy of the Audit Report of the Lottery Division, Iowa Department
    of Revenue & Finance dated June 30, 1994.
