CERTIFICATION-STATE OF IOWA
OFFICE OF THE SECRETARY OF STATE
To the Honorable, the Secretary of the Senate:
I, ELAINE BAXTER, Secretary of State of the State of Iowa,
custodian of the files and records pertaining to the elections in the
state,
DO HEREBY CERTIFY THAT the State Canvassing Board has declared that
at a special election held on December 20, 1994, MARY A. LUNDBY was
elected to fill a vacancy in the office of State Senator of the
Twenty-Sixth District, for the balance of the term which began on
January second, 1993.
IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the
official seal of the Secretary (SEAL)
of State at the Statehouse in Des Moines this 23rd day of December,
1994.

On motion of Senator Kibbie, the report was adopted by a voice vote
and the duly elected Senators appeared before the bar of the Senate,
were duly sworn and subscribed their names to the oath of office.
President Boswell announced that the Senator from District 26, Mary
Lundby, was administered the oath of office on January 4, 1995, by
President Boswell and witnessed by Senators Horn, Maddox and Priebe.
ELECTION OF PRESIDENT
Senator Horn placed in nomination the name of Senator Leonard L.
Boswell of Decatur County as a candidate for the office of President of
the Senate for the Seventy-sixth General Assembly.
