1 2 BY COMMITTEE ON RULES AND ADMINISTRATION
1 3 A Resolution honoring Senator Leonard L. Boswell.
1 4 WHEREAS, Senator Leonard L. Boswell is retiring
1 5 from legislative office after completing three terms
1 6 in office as a state Senator; and
1 7 WHEREAS, Senator Boswell's distinguished career as
1 8 a state legislator has included service as the
1 9 President of the Senate during the Seventy-fifth and
1 10 Seventy-sixth General Assemblies; and
1 11 WHEREAS, Senator Boswell's service as Chairperson
1 12 of the Appropriations Committee and the Small Business
1 13 and Economic Development Committee and of the Economic
1 14 Development and Iowa Plan Appropriations Subcommittee
1 15 is well recognized; and
1 16 WHEREAS, Senator Boswell's untiring dedication,
1 17 valuable leadership, and expertise regarding state
1 18 appropriations and economic development issues are
1 19 well recognized; and
1 20 WHEREAS, Senator Boswell has served honorably and
1 21 has unselfishly given of his time and efforts to
1 22 further the interests of the State of Iowa and to
1 23 provide beneficial programs for the citizens of Iowa;
1 24 and
1 25 WHEREAS, Senator Boswell has served on many other
1 26 standing committees throughout his twelve years of
1 27 legislative service and has been an influential and
1 28 devoted legislator in this state; NOW THEREFORE,
1 29 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE, That the Senate pay
1 30 tribute to Senator Leonard L. Boswell for his devoted
2 1 service to the Iowa General Assembly and the citizens
2 2 of this state and wish him the very best in the years
2 3 ahead; and
2 4 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That an official copy of
2 5 this Resolution be prepared and presented to Senator
2 6 Leonard L. Boswell.
