1 1 Section 1. Section 28E.8, Code 1995, is amended to read as
1 2 follows:
1 3 28E.8 FILING AND RECORDING.
1 4 Before entry into force, an agreement made pursuant to this
1 5 chapter shall be filed with the secretary of state and
1 6 recorded with the county recorder. In counties in which the
1 7 office of county recorder is abolished, the agreement shall be
1 8 recorded with the county auditor.
1 9 EXPLANATION
1 10 This bill provides that intergovernmental agreements for
1 11 the joint exercise of governmental power, commonly known as
1 12 chapter 28E agreements, shall be filed in the county auditor's
1 13 office in those counties in which the office of the county
1 14 recorder has been abolished.
