1 1 SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO.
1 2 BY PALMER and VILSACK
1 3 A Concurrent Resolution requesting the legislative
1 4 council to establish an interim committee to study
1 5 state taxes.
1 6 WHEREAS, there is significant interest in Iowa's
1 7 system of taxation; and
1 8 WHEREAS, the Seventy-sixth General Assembly, 1995
1 9 Session, has given considerable attention to taxation
1 10 and associated issues; NOW THEREFORE,
1 11 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE, THE HOUSE OF
1 12 REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING, That the legislative
1 13 council is requested to establish a study of state
1 14 taxation, including inheritance, income, and sales
1 15 taxes, and to coordinate the charge of this study with
1 16 any other tax study established by the council; and
1 17 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That if a study is
1 18 established, the committee conducting the study should
1 19 be directed to report the results of the study to the
1 20 members of the General Assembly for the 1996
1 21 Legislative Session.
