  1  1    Amend the House amendment, S-5818, to Senate File
  1  2 2370, as amended, passed, and reprinted by the Senate,
  1  3 as follows:
  1  4    #1.  Page 1, line 31, by striking the figure "23."
  1  5 and inserting the following:  "23, and inserting the
  1  6 following:
  1  7    "Sec.    .  Section 476.43, Code 1995, is amended
  1  8 by adding the following new subsection:
  1  9    NEW SUBSECTION.  7.  The board shall require that
  1 10 an electric utility enter into a long-term contract
  1 11 pursuant to this section and section 476.44, by
  1 12 January 1, 1997.  An electric utility that fails to
  1 13 comply with the contract requirements of this section
  1 14 shall be subject to a civil penalty under section
  1 15 476.51.""
  1 16    #2.  By renumbering as necessary.
