1 3 #1. Page 1, by inserting after line 21 the
1 4 following:
1 5 "Sec. . Section 547.1, Code 1995, is amended to
1 6 read as follows:
1 7 547.1 USE OF TRADE NAME – VERIFIED STATEMENT
1 8 REQUIRED.
1 9 A person or copartnership shall not engage in or
1 10 conduct a business under a trade name, or an assumed
1 11 name of a character other than the true surname of
1 12 each person owning or having an interest in the
1 13 business, unless the person first records with the
1 14 county recorder of the county in which the business is
1 15 to be conducted a verified statement showing the name,
1 16 post office address, and residence address of each
1 17 person owning or having an interest in the business,
1 18 and the address where the business is to be conducted.
1 19 However, this provision does not apply to any
1 20 corporation or limited liability company incorporated
1 21 or organized in this state or any foreign corporation
1 22 or foreign limited liability company authorized to do
1 23 business in this state or doing business pursuant to
1 24 an exemption in chapter 490 or 490A."
1 25 #2. Title page, line 3, by inserting after the
1 26 word "continued," the following: "use of trade names
1 27 by corporations and limited liability companies,".
1 28 #3. By renumbering as necessary.
