  3 32    Sec. 201.  APPROPRIATION TO MERGED AREAS –
  3 33 CONTINGENCY.  Notwithstanding any Act enacted in 1996
  3 34 during the Seventy-sixth General Assembly, all moneys
  3 35 from appropriations made pursuant to any Act enacted
  3 36 in 1996 by the Seventy-sixth General Assembly to a
  3 37 merged area shall be reduced by 100 percent, if the
  3 38 merged area enters into an agreement under chapter
  3 39 260E or 260F, for a project which includes program
  3 40 services for employees of a confinement feeding
  3 41 operation as defined in section 455B.161."

  7  8 seniors graduate, the board shall conduct an annual
  7  9 survey of accredited higher education institutions, as
  7 10 defined in section 261.92, and employers
  7 11 representative of the local business community.  The
  7 12 survey shall assess the employability skills of the
  7 13 district's high school graduates who have enrolled in
  7 14 accredited higher education institutions in Iowa or
  7 15 entered the local workforce.  The employability skills
  7 16 assessed shall include, but are not limited to,
  7 17 reading for information, applied mathematics,
  7 18 listening, and writing.  Annually, the school district
  7 19 shall tabulate and summarize the information collected
  7 20 pursuant to this paragraph and shall file a report
  7 21 with the department of education.  The board shall
  7 22 make copies of the report available upon request."

  8  5    If funds available are insufficient to fully fund
  8  6 the appropriation for a management information system
  8  7 in this subsection, the amount distributed for the
  8  8 management information system shall be reduced to an
  8  9 amount equal to the available funds.
  8 10    Sec.    .  FUNDING FORMULA RECOMMENDATIONS.  By
  8 11 January 1, 1997, the department of education, in
  8 12 consultation with the Iowa association of community
  8 13 college trustees, shall submit recommendations for a
  8 14 funding formula that identifies and addresses
  8 15 community college needs.
  8 16    Sec.    .  REPEAL – DIRECTION TO CODE EDITOR.
  8 17 Section 260C.18A, as enacted in this Act, is repealed
  8 18 effective July 1, 1997.  The Code editor shall strike
  8 19 the reference to section 260C.18A in section 260C.34
  8 20 effective July 1, 1997."
