  1  1    Amend Senate File 2245 as follows:
  1  2    #1.  Page 50, by inserting after line 23 the
  1  3 following:
  1  4    "Sec.    .  DEVELOPMENT OF PROPOSAL FOR
  1  5 ESTABLISHING A DEFINED CONTRIBUTION OPTION – IOWA
  1  6 PUBLIC EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT SYSTEM – REPORT.  The
  1  7 Iowa public employees' retirement system division, in
  1  8 consultation with the public retirement systems
  1  9 committee established in section 97D.4, shall develop
  1 10 a proposal concerning various alternatives for
  1 11 establishing a defined contribution option for members
  1 12 of the Iowa public employees' retirement system.  On
  1 13 or before September 1, 1997, the Iowa public
  1 14 employees' retirement system division shall file a
  1 15 report with the legislative service bureau, for
  1 16 distribution to the public retirement systems
  1 17 committee, which contains a proposal, or proposals,
  1 18 for establishing a defined contribution option.  The
  1 19 report shall also contain actuarial information
  1 20 concerning the costs of the proposal or proposals."
