  1  1    Amend House File 579, as amended, passed, and
  1  2 reprinted by the House, as follows:
  1  3    #1.  Page 10, line 22, by inserting after the
  1  4 figure "1." the following:  "a."
  1  5    #2.  Page 11, line 7, by striking the words "Each
  1  6 member shall receive a" and inserting the following:
  1  7 "Each member shall receive a".
  1  8    #3.  Page 11, by striking lines 8 through 10 and
  1  9 inserting the following:  "hundred twenty-five dollar
  1 10 per month allowance for legislative district
  1 11 constituency postage, travel, telephone costs, and
  1 12 other expenses.  Travel expenses shall be paid at".
  1 13    #4.  Page 11, by inserting after line 20 the
  1 14 following:
  1 15    "b.  Each member of the general assembly shall
  1 16 receive a monthly legislative district constituency
  1 17 allowance for postage, travel, telephone costs, and
  1 18 other expenses determined as follows:
  1 19    (1)  For each senate member, a monthly allowance of
  1 20 one hundred seventy-five dollars plus an additional
  1 21 sum based upon the square miles within the member's
  1 22 district as provided in paragraph "c".
  1 23    (2)  For each house member, a monthly allowance of
  1 24 one hundred fifty dollars plus an additional sum based
  1 25 upon the square miles within the member's district as
  1 26 provided in paragraph "c".
  1 27    c.  In addition to the amount stated in paragraph
  1 28 "b", each member of the general assembly shall receive
  1 29 an additional monthly allowance based on the square
  1 30 miles within the member's legislative district
  1 31 determined as follows:
  1 32    (1)  Three hundred square miles or less, twenty-
  1 33 five dollars.
  1 34    (2)  More than three hundred square miles but not
  1 35 more than eight hundred square miles, fifty dollars.
  1 36    (3)  More than eight hundred square miles but not
  1 37 more than one thousand two hundred square miles,
  1 38 seventy-five dollars.
  1 39    (4)  More than one thousand two hundred square
  1 40 miles but not more than one thousand nine hundred
  1 41 square miles, one hundred dollars.
  1 42    (5)  More than one thousand nine hundred square
  1 43 miles, one hundred twenty-five dollars."
